Happy Thanksgiving

November 15, 2018

As firefighters and volunteers from around the country race to California to help devastated communities, we are reminded that understanding and compassion are the true hallmarks of our country. All of us at Summit Place have much to be thankful for this year, and we look forward to spending time with our families and loved ones over holiday meals next week.  Not everyone is fortunate enough to have family ties nearby or the ability to be part of a warm welcoming holiday meal; for this we support Citymeals-on-Wheels each year.

Founded in 1981 by Gael Greene and James Beard, Citymeals-on-Wheels is a nonprofit organization that raises private funds to ensure that no homebound elderly New Yorker goes without food or human company. In its first year, the program was able to provide 35,000 Christmas dinners, and it currently serves over 2 million meals annually. Today, the Citymeals program provides support for government-funded organizations that would otherwise close on these days. Also, nearly 19,000 volunteers collectively will spend over 67,000 hours this year making meal deliveries and providing companionship to homebound elderly who have no one with them this Thanksgiving.

We are constantly touched by the generosity of our clients and colleagues who support so many worthy causes and we are inspired by them to share our corporate success with others. We hope that your holiday season gets off to a great start this week and we wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving!
